This sounds right to me, which is a relief. I always did believe that the writers of SCC knew it was important to get the temporal mechanics right; let's just hope that Friedman is able to keep enough control of the reins to keep the show from screwing up.

I want more.

Are the ( spoilers for tonight's SCC ) supposed to be taking place in the future Cameron remembers (her subjective past) or the new future which exists in the timeline Cameron created by taking Sarah into the future and not having her die of cancer? I missed last week's episode and I'm so confused.

I have to say, they're certainly doing a good job of keeping the intensity. That was a really good episode of television. I just hope they're managing to have it make sense while they do it.

T1 was a causality loop.

T2 showed it was possible to change history in the Terminator universe.

T3 (which I liked) was another causality loop, and ( the spoilers start here. )

In some ways, my stepsibcest kink (Gordy, The Neverending Story III, The Parent Trap II) is even stronger than my biosibcest kink (Time Enough for Love, Ender's Game). The Parent Trap is wonderful in that it plays to both kinks at once. This is all a way of introducing the fact that, even though a bunch of my flist is already shipping Sarah/Cameron and that makes perfect sense to me, there was never any doubt in my mind that I'd be shipping John/Cameron (and I'd assumed the show would be, too).

I've been happy with the way the relationship is developing so far (no surprises, but some really nice moments) and am looking forward to see more with it, as they become more intimate on a number of (sometimes conflicting) levels. I really sort of want to read and/or write a ( actually sort of spoilerish )

Actually, I want fic in general. I'm sure the comms and everything are already set up. *goes to find them*

SCC was awesome. Summer was awesome, and still makes me go guh. Next week's episode looks awesome.

I watched the premiere of The Sarah Connor Chronicles online. So I saw the entire episode already.

It doesn't matter. The last hour, watching it on television, was still an hour of totally awesome squee. Can't wait until tomorrow!

When I didn't even know what channel Fox was, I realized just how long it has been since I've watched television.

Just when I thought it wasn't possible to be even more excited for this show.

Back from vacation. 'Twas great, especially the spending time with family part and the lazy mornings part, but spending five days out of six at the beach strikes me as more than a little excessive. Also, my skin is this strange color that isn't alabaster white, and I'm not a fan--if Nature wanted my skin that color, it wouldn't have needed to use the sun to do it.

I don't like the sun.

Joss Whedon announces Summer Glau ballet at Comic-Con. “I'm composing the score for a short film, a ballet starring Summer Glau.” The film is called “The Serving Girl,” and Whedon is reportedly in talks with a “great choreographer.” Plus (more reliably?) info on Ripper and on the comics.
New Joss Whedon comic, with original characters, available for free on Myspace. It's titled Sugarshock and seems to be about an all-girl (well, one of them's a robot) rock band who suddenly fall into science fictional circumstances.
Sarah Connor Cast Q&A and Censorship Worries. Summer's quote:

Well, I was just so excited to play this kind of character, because in a way she's much like River in that she's isolated and she's different from the other characters in how she relates and how she communicates. But she's very strong, and she can't genuinely feel emotion. River—that's what she was all about. She was just a jumble of emotions. So I was really, really excited that Josh gave me the opportunity to try this role, and that's something that is going to be the most challenging part about her, I think, is that I want people to be able to relate to her and in some way see themselves in her, just like I try with all my characters.

Story revamped after Virginia Tech shootings. Goes into more detail as to how the pilot will be altered in response to the Virginia Tech shootings (echoes of "Earshot" and "Graduation Day," anyone?). Less about Summer (as in, she's not mentioned at all).
Chronicles' Glau Humanizes Terminator. This article, on the other hand, is completely about Summer--read the whole thing!--and ends in such a way as to prompt Ari to ask "could Joss/Summer be any more canon? Aww."

fox1013 and mimesere met Summer at Comic-Con and made voice posts about it, here and here respectively. As Elizabeth says, "So adorable and awesome. (Summer Glau: also awesome, and adorable.)" ETA: Amy has texts (which are so very Joss/Summer) and her companion has pictures.[/eta]

Characters of Color Multifandom Love-a-thon claims end on Aug. 6th. The writing of prompts that I submitted is highly encouraged (by me).

My Lilah/Eve fic "Unfathomable Youth" has been nominated at the Fang Fetish Awards for "Best of Rare Pairings (Femslash)." Mmm. There's something about college!student!Eve that's just really hot to me. And there's a lot of my favorite pairings (Wes/Dawn, Dawn/Xander, Faith/Dawn, Faith/Wes, Willow/Kennedy, Spike/Dawn, Spike/Darla, Dawn/Angelus) in the other nominated stories, so I'm looking forward to some (hopefully good) reading.

Things to be done today:
1. Go to church. (That one's easy.)
2. Go to [town redacted] to hopefully buy a new laptop.
3. Figure out financial aid for NYU. Also housing and/or transport. (Commuting the many hours from South Jersey to NYU is beginning to look like a neccesity, as deadlines come closer and I have no money and nowhere to live.)
4.  Transcribing the first half of my femslash_minis fic, written on vacation in a paper notebook, and writing the end. It's Dawn/River, which means I have to try especially hard to make it not sound like every fic I've ever written.
5. Watch the bonus material on Race You to the Bottom (starring Amber Benson) so I can send it back to Netflix.

You know, after all that Summer linkspam up-post, I'm really full of squee. So:

I'm rewatching "The Ballad of Kevin and Tess" via Netflix--unlike almost all the rest of The 4400 Season 3, I watched this ep when it originally aired.
